Dickson Lake attracts fishing enthusiasts during summer. It is located 27 km (17 mi) northwest of Port Alberni via Ash River Road.
This little gem of a lake offers great fishing during summer. Rainbow Trout, Cutthroat Trout and Dolly Varden Char are found in the lake. Located 27 km (17 mi) northwest of Port Alberni, it can be accessed via Highway 4 to Great Central Lake Road and Ash River Road.
Elsie Lake offers safe and enjoyable camping, fishing and swimming opportunities. Rustic campsites and a car top boat launch are located at the lake, and fishing is most rewarding from April to June, September and October. Located 35 km (22 mi) northwest of Port Alberni, Elsie Lake can be accessed via Highway 4 to Great Central Lake Road and Ash River Road.
This small, weedy lake is full of large Rainbow Trout and Cutthroat Trout and fishing is at best from April to June and September to October. Car top boat launch and campsite facilities are available. Located 35 km (22 mi) northwest of Port Alberni, the lake can be reached by Highway 4, Great Central Lake Road, Ash River Road and Branch 8 to Thunder Mountain.
Part f the Stamp river Provincial Park, this river is a haven for Steelhead and a delight to local and visiting fishermen and women. Stamp Falls divide the river into upper and lower Stamp River.
Horne Lake offers excellent swimming, picnicking, camping and year round fishing. Located between Qualicum Beach and Port Alberni the lake can be reached via Highway 4 and Horne Lake Road from Port Alberni, and via Highway 19 to Horne Lake Road from Qualicum Beach.
Located near Port Alberni on Vancouver Island the Somas and Stamp Rivers flow out to the Alberni Inlet. The Somas flows out of lakes in the centre of the Island and is a haven for trout and steelhead fishing.
Just east of Port Alberni is Cameron Lake, a favourite for the local fishermen and kayak enthusiasts.
This picturesque sub-alpine lake offers good hiking and fishing (Rainbow Trout) opportunities. Wilderness campsites are available and a hiking trail circles the lake. Situated 35 km (22 mi) southeast of Port Alberni, Labour Day Lake can be reached via Highway 4 and Lake Road, then a short hike to the lake shore.
Loon Lake is a popular fishing site offering good stocks of Rainbow and Cutthroat Trout (restrictions apply). Located 11 km (7 mi) east of Port Alberni, the lake can be reached via the Mount Arrowsmith access road, opposite the Cameron/Summit logging mainline, north from Highway 4.
Junior Lake offers excellent fly-fishing and is stocked with Cutthroat Trout. Located in the southeast of beautiful Strathcona Provincial Park, 60 km (37 mi) northwest of Port Alberni, this small lake can be reached via Highway 4, Great Central Lake Road and Ash River Road to Long Lake Road.
